O.M.T.

Hello and welcome to O.M.T.

I am just getting this site going for the most part, and what I am going to do is offer Online Marketing Training. I know that it is about the hardest aspect to building a business online today. I had started to do this many months ago, but got involved with several projects and was not able to continue. I now have more time to dedicate to this.

I am also playing with the idea of making this a "paid" site. How that would work is like an affiliate program where you would get paid on the people that you brought here. That would also eliminate the SPAMMERS who get on these sites and blast their posts about being the wife of the baron of Nigeria or something like that, so please comment with your opinions on that.

This is going to be YOUR site, so I will be asking for your opinions a lot on certain features.

Also note that I will only be promoting tools on here that will HELP you with your marketing and not confusing you. I will have a list of basic tools and advanced tools because some people need to crawl before they can walk. Marketing is NOT something that you can learn in a day. It is definitely a process and one that I have been refining for 10 years now.

Even with 10 years experience, I am still learning every day.

OK so like I said, I will be asking for your opinions often and I already have a question for you...please leave your comments below to answer.

1. Should this be a private or public network?

2. Should I set it up to be a "paid" network that will pay you a commission?

3. If I do make it "paid" what should I charge?

4. Should it be a 1 time payment or ongoing?

OK that is all I have for now. I look forward to working with ALL of you!
David

I know that this kind of training is what I need. I used to think I was fairly smart, but I can't seem to make heads or tails out of getting an online business going. I, too, work from a fixed income, so funds are limited for me as well. One person suggested $10 per month. I could swing that, but not any more than that. I look forward to learning here, you have no idea how much. And I like the idea of keeping the spammers out, too. Getting a business up and running is hard enough without dealing with those people.

Thank you for your response David;
I must apologise, I really was not aware that this site was solely for Marketing in general. I really thought that your purpose for this site was an addition to the LocalAdLink training primarily for LocalAdLink members.

Thanks
Stephen

David,
Thanks for the frank talk. I appreciate what you are trying to do and absolutely feel that it should remain private with a fee. Personally I feel a one time fee or perhaps a yearly subscription will work best. I feel confident that you are sincere and I am willing to commit my time to your lessons. Thanks.

Hey Stephen,

Just so you know that the proadlink team is the site that is dedicated to LocalAdLink training. This site is not associated with any specific company. This is just for marketing training.

I have already made the site private so anyone that you want to join will now have to be sent an invitation. Once we get a lot of training on here, then I will consider opening it up to the public, but I will do what is best for the community here.

Bottom line, I want people to get a grip on marketing! So that is the #1 goal!

I believe it should be a private training site in the initial stages;
As the saying goes "We should help those in our own household first then we are in a position to help others".

Then maybe when you have perfected the site and when perhaps (marketing trainees) have seen successes then you may wish to open the network to the public.

In the initial stages it should all be about getting LocalAdlink members up and running asap with the best training. How about a private training site just for Proadlink members in the initial stages?

I am sorry to be so frank but how does one know what is good online marketing? Especially when there is so much information out there all claiming to be good marketing training and especially when about 95% of all online businesses fail in the first year. As far as I am concerned good marketing training and advice is good if it works for the majority and successes are seen through-out an organisation rather than only with a select few.

So as far as I am concerned, let LocalAdLink members go through the training first, then when success is experienced by the majority then it can truly be said to be successful.

When a system or training is truly successful then charging for it is not a problem, I personally would pay for a system that worked for the majority and not just the minority.

I am a real newbie so cannot give a qualified answer to cost or no cost, but I know one thing spam is painful good quality training is not really out there I would rather pay a fee for good information and training with out one more if you want more information click here and pay additional etc. I am working from a very limited income, but usually believe you get nothing for nothing. I sure appreciate you David and hope you can help turn me into an income producing networker.

Hey Tony,

Well the pros to a private network are that you can only join if invited by a member. Keeps down on spammers getting in. The con would be that there will always be less members to network with, which again CAN be a good thing.

The value will be the training that people will get here. Some of it will be from sources that some people will never have access to any other way.

Hope that helps!

What are the pros and cons of being private or public? Being paid a commission is always a good thing. The perceived value must always be more that the cost. What would you put the value at? As an incentive I'd say start it out as a 1 time payment and if it makes sense and you can than make it ongoing.

David, I couldn't agree with Peter more. I am tired of all the spam out there. Everytime I find, what I think is good info, I end up being directed back to the same place....

Thanks for your input Peter. Noted! (I agree with you about keeping spammers out)
